At Match Group’s Media Terrace, our landscape design transforms an elevated outdoor space into a lush and inviting urban retreat that complements the energy of the workplace while offering a calm and engaging environment for employees and visitors alike. Situated within a dynamic Midtown setting, the terrace serves as an extension of the office — a place to pause, gather, and interact with nature amidst the pace of the city.

This project integrates a layered planting scheme that balances sculptural form with seasonal richness, combining structural shrubs, textural perennials, and ornamental grasses to create a tapestry of color and movement throughout the year. Plantings were carefully selected for their performance in terrace environments — accommodating exposure conditions, shifting light, and the rhythms of New York’s seasons — while enhancing the terrace’s spatial definition and comfort.

Hardscape and landscape elements were integrated thoughtfully, creating a cohesive flow between seating areas, circulation paths, and green zones. The strategic placement of greenery not only softens the built edges but also frames views and defines intimate spaces for rest and social interaction.
